Ross spends every waking minute with Rachel and on a double date with Arturo and Monica she realizes how different her own relationship is. Ross has more feelings for her than she does for him. They end their romance but stay friends:
But Monica and Arturo only seem to be the perfect couple on first sight. He doesn't show up for meetings with the group and is very busy otherwise as well. Their lives are just too different so they end their romantic relationship as well:
Time for new beginnings: Rachel and Monica are offered new career opportunities. Rachel works as a retail employee and Monica is on her way of becoming a cook.
This calls for a celebration! At the party Rachel is fuzzy early on so she lies down for now. Ross isn't averse to drinking either. After Rachel wakes up everyone else went home already. She decides to visit a bar on her own to catch up on the party she missed. In a hush-hush operation she decides to call Ross:
But there's fatal consequences: Ross is there on the spot and pretty intoxicated too. The both of them decide to spontaneously pay a visit to the county's office to get married. After that they fall asleep in each others arms:
The realization about their instant wedding happens fast: At the next morning they notice what happened and get an annulment right away. They're both pretty sad about the mishap:
And Monica is spontaneous too: Sie starts a secret affair with Chandler:
The Friends live through many ups and downs and even though their story is pre-written, there's still surprises every now and then. I planned on letting Monicas relationship with Arturo go on longer but he did get on my nerves a little because he kept on disappearing on me when he was invited. But that's what makes it more exciting in the end.
