Meet the Townies Challenge #S4MtT

Meet the Townies Header

You'd like to know more about the Townies? How about moving in with them?

As a nanny or domestic help you'll get to know them and

help telling their stories and reaching their goals

Maybe you'll uncover some secrets while at it...

Essentially any townie family works for this challenge.

It's your choice who you'll want to move in with.

Who would you like to know more about? Here's some recommendations.

Preperation:

  1. Choose townies:
Choose which townie families you'll want to visit in this challenge. The household info with the family history may help you to decide.

  2. Save the families:
Save the families in your offline gallery (except for the one you'll move in with first). This way you can make sure they're not progressing on their own.
You may use Sims/houses from the gallery that had a makeover/renovation.

  3. Delete the households:
Delete the chosen townie families (except for the first) from the neighborhood to avoid running into doppelgangers along the way.

  4. Prepare the house:
Renovate the first house for your Sim to have their own space. Whether it's a bed in the cellar or a whole wing of the house - that's up to you. What fits for the townies?

  5. Create and place a Sim:
Create a Sim and let him move in with the first family.

Progression:

  • Aging:
It's best to pause the aging to spend as much time as possible with each of the families. But that's up to you.

  • Support the townies:
Support the chosen families with their household chores, taking care of the children, fulfilling their aspiration, finding a job or getting promoted and with their personal development. How will their story go on?

.

  •  Move along: â€‹
The great thing about this challenge? If you feel like you've got enough of the townies you're with can just move on. Place the next family back in their house and add your own space there.

Townie-recommendations:

  • The Goths:

Family history (from the game*):
„The Goths are a noble family with a dark aura. Between Mortimer, who composes macabre stories, and Bella, who mysteriously disappeard in the past, will their children Cassandra and Alexander grow up to be sinister beings too?“

Household members:

  • Mortimer (Adult, traits: Outgoing, Bookworm, Creative, aspiraton: Renaissance Sim, job: Freelance Article Writer)

  • Bella (Young Adult, traits: Romantic, Good, Family-Oriented, aspiration: Party Animal, job: Intelligence Researcher)

  • Kassandra (Teenager, traits: Creative, Gloomy, aspiration: Musical Genius)

  • Alexander (Child, trait: Bookworm, aspiration: Whiz Kid)

The Goths have been known since the very first Sims part, they're THE classical Sims family. There's a lot of stories to tell here. In Sims 2 Bella was probably abducted by aliens. Sims 4 is in another timeline but even the official family history mentions the disappearance. What you make of it is up to you. Maybe she works as a Secret Agent to uncover the truth about what happened. While Mortimer seems to get lost in his dark stories, Bella seems to wanna have fun as a Party Animal. Although family is important to her too.

  • The Landgraabs:

Family history (from the game*):
„The Landgraabs seem to be the perfect family: Rich, well educated and brilliant. But Nancy and Geoffrey got something to hide. Will their secrets tear them apart or will they manage to continue the rich dynasty?
Bonus: „Johnny Zest got a great stage name and a dream, but maybe no talent... He was outcast by the Landgraabs because he dropped out of school and now wants to make it as a standup comedian.“

Household members:

  • Geoffrey (Adult, traits: Good, Family-Oriented, Outgoing, aspiration: Succesful Lineage, job: Lead Detective)

  • Nancy (Adult, traits: Materialistic, Snob, Ambitious, aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy, job: Minor Crimelord)

  • Malcom (Teenager, traits: Snob, Evil, aspiration: Public Enemy)

  • Bonus: Johnny Zest (Young Adult, traits: Goofball, Outgoing, Ambitious, aspiration: Joke Star, job: Open Mic Seeker)

The name Landgraab is a synonym for wealth and successful businesses, not just since the Sims 4. Even the name suggests they enjoy their power to grab whatever they can get their hands on ("land grabbing" is an illegal form of acquisition of land). And while we're talking about illegal: Nancys job fits that mould perfectly. Malcolm seems to drift into that scene as well. But what happens when the next generation wants to take a different route? Well Johnny Zest ist the best example for that, being outcast by the family. Will he make it into your story?

  • The Pancakes:

 â€‹

Family history (from the game*):
„Poor Bob and poor Eliza, have they ever been happy? They never seem to be able to please one another. But what keeps the couple together then? Or better yet: What's gonna be the last straw to break the camels back?“

Household members:

  • Bob (Young Adult, traits: Slob, Loner, Gloomy, aspiration: Master Chef, job: Caterer)

  • Eliza (Young Adult, traits: Neat, Materialistic, Perfectionist, aspiration: Mansion Baron, job: Unemployed)

When looking at the Pancakes they seem to be in a crisis. Maybe them being so different - even opposite in some points (Gloomy vs. Neat) - is the reason for that. While Eliza is unemployed, she seems to long for a life in the upper class. Will Bob be able to accomplish that as a simple Caterer? When Sims 4 introduced toddlers, their child (Iggy) became available in the gallery. A sign that a baby may save them? It's up to you.

  • The Calientes:

Family history (from the game*):
„Ever since the Caliente matriarch Katrina introduced her lingering boyfriend Don to their home, there's not just women under their roof anymore. Will Don be faithful with three hot and attractive women in the house or will try to get with more than one Caliente woman?“

Household members:

  • Katrina (Adult, traits: Romantic, Family-Oriented, Jealous, aspiration: Soulmate, job: Opening Act)

  • Dina (Young Adult, traits: Romantic, Ambitious, Materialistic, aspiration Fabulously Wealthy, job: Assistant Dishwasher)

  • Nina (Young Adult, traits: Romantic, Hot-Headed, Noncommittal, aspiration: Villainous Valentine, job: Unemployed)

  • Don Lothario (Young Adult, traits: Self-Assured, Romantic, Noncommittal, aspiration: Serial Romantic, job: Unemployed)

The Calientes are a turbulent family. Dina, Nina and their mother Katrinas young boyfriend Don already had something going in Sims 2. And since Don is a true casanova, that might bring tensions to the house. Not only is Katrina Family-Oriented and somewhat of a best friend to their duaghters, she's also Jealous. But Don, as a Serial Romantic, will most likely not be satisfied with one woman only. Or can Katrina change him?

  • The Bjergsens:

Family history (from the game*):
„The highly musically talented teenager Sofia's got dreams - she wants to make it big as a musician. And no one will change anything about that, neither her Gloomy father or Perfectionist mother, nor her annoying litle sister with her Genius mind!“

Household members:

  • Bjorn (Adult, traits: Good, Slob, Gloomy, aspiration: Soulmate, job: Agent Handler)

  • Clara (Adult, traits: Family-Oriented, Perfectionist, Foodie, aspiration: Succesful Lineage, job: Caterer)

  • Sofia (Teenager, traits: Cheerful, Music Lover, aspiration: Musical Genius)

  • Elsa (Child, trait: Genius, aspiration: Whiz Kid)

From the outside the Bjergsens seem like the perfect family. Or is their appearances deceiving? How will Bjorns Gloomy affect the other household members? Does Clara want perfect children as a Perfectionist? Can they accept the rather unconventional road their oldest daughter Sofia wants to take to make it big as a musician? Your choice.
